Ven Ruah, dadora de vida, abre nuestros oídos, libéralos de sorderas cómplices, de tapones distorsionadores. Limpia nuestra mirada, transforma nuestro corazón, ensancha nuestras entrañas, aligera nuestros pies en la dirección que tú nos marques. Haz, Tú, posible que este tiempo sea de docilidad a tu acción, de soltar nuestros controles, de abrir puertas y ventanas. Danos la capacidad de acoger las interpelaciones que nos vengan: molestas algunas, difíciles de aceptar otras, que nos desconcertarán, nos producirán dolor, miedo y seguramente nos desplazarán de muchas de nuestras seguridades y certezas hacia la búsqueda permanente de tus caminos. Concédenos también que este tiempo lo sea de humor entrañable para acoger nuestra debilidad y pecado, para no tomarnos demasiado en serio y poner así de manifiesto que el Reino que buscamos es tuyo y no nuestro, don tuyo y regalo que pide ser acogido y cuidado. Así es Él

Así es Él, hermano/a, así es Él.

Se le desborda la ternura por los poros,nos alza hasta sus ojos, nos besa,nos hace mimos, cosquillas y guiños,y sueña esperanzas para nosotrosmás que las madres más buenas y apasionadas.

Dios ha puesto su esperanza en nosotros.

Dios nos confió a su Hijo,

nos confió su hacienda, su Buena Noticia,y aun su esperanza misma,¿y no vamos a poner nosotrosnuestra esperanza en Él?

Hay que tener confianza en la vidaa pesar de lo mal que nos dicen que está todo.

Hay que tener esperanza en las personas,¡en todas!

Sólo en algunas, hasta los fariseosy necios la tienen…

Hay que confiar más en Diosy echarnos en sus brazos y descansar en su regazo.

Hay que esperar EN Dios.

Mejor: hay que esperar A Dios.

Y si todo esto ya lo haces y gozas,una cosa te falta todavía:¡hay que esperar CON Dios!

Thirdly, by its very nature, since it is a journey away from the familiar toward the unfamiliar, the pilgrimage is an adventure.  Yet the pilgrim must be on guard lest the adventure of the pilgrimage steal his attention away from the “inner-venture”, the inner journey of the Spirit that every person in this world is making towards God.  Thus it is necessary that the goals of the journey be always kept in mind so that the temptation to turn the vocation of a pilgrim into the vacation of the pilgrim is realistically faced.  A good pilgrimage allows for prayerful attention – to be aware of the movements of the “inner-venture.” (Hays, Edward, Pray All Ways, 2007 p. 75)

Reflection: What is the difference between the “vocation of the pilgrim” and the “vacation of the pilgrim”?

Secondly, the pilgrim leaves home, saying goodbye to loved ones and to the familiar, to travel to the unfamiliar, the unknown.  This is never easy since we fear the unknown and tend to surround ourselves with all sorts of things that tell us that we are not really far from home.  Yet this journey into the unknown can be the very cause of our placing our trust in God. (Hays, Edward, Pray All Ways, 2007 p. 74)
